In Memory of Kim
Yesterday a sweet friend of mine committed suicide. It has totally rocked my world! She was a fellow runner; a great runner! This is the scripture that comes to mind when I think of Kim and her love for the Lord Jesus and for the sport of roadrunning:
Philippians 3:12-14
“Not that I have attained (this ideal) or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own (yet); but one thing I do (it is my one aspiration): forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the (supreme and heavenly) prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.”
I will run for Kim. Christ’s strength will be enough for me.

I’m so sorry for your loss! You are such a warrior to be out there on the road in the memory of your friend. It is so ironic that you have chosen Phil 3:14 as your inspiration. It is mine also, and I called on it this morning to deal with an issue in my life. But quite frankly, it seems so trivial in comparison to what you are going through. Your story of loss really gives me some perspective. Keep pressing on — God will see you through this! I just said a prayer for you. God Bless You!
